A man in his 60s suffered head injuries after his Hyundai car rolled and hit bollards on the A143 at Stanton this afternoon.

Suffolk Police were called to the scene at about 2.30pm and found the car on its roof.

Fire crews from Elmswell and Ixworth attended, along with a rescue vehicle from Bury St Edmunds, and used hydraulic cutting equipment to release a man who was trapped in the vehicle.

A police spokeswoman said the driver had not suffered life threatening or changing injuries.

The single-vehicle accident caused tailbacks in both directions, but police say it did not close the road.
