Shoppers in Bury St Edmunds met the Tardis and three Daleks as part of a fund-raising drive earlier this month.

The spectacle in the arc on May 14 was due to the St Edmunds Dr Who Group who raised more than £500 in aid of Cancer Research UK while promoting Bury Relay For Life, due to take place in the grounds of Ickworth House from September 17-18.

David Cianciola, chairman of Bury Relay For Life, said: “This is an organisation that likes to help local charities and we are really pleased they have decided to support us.

“They helped us with the promotion of our latest fundraiser and it drew in a crowd, which we really appreciate.

“Everyone that dressed up looked great and we thank them for all of their help.”

Relay For Life is a 24-hour walking event suitable for all ages and abilities.
