A dog walker has been bitten by another dog while walking through a Bury St Edmunds nature reserve.

Police have said the victim was walking her dog between Spring Lane and Beetons Way at about 5pm on October 7 when another dog on a long lead came towards her.

As she put her hand out to greet it the dog bit her causing her hand to bleed. She subsequently needed to take medication for the bite.

Police would like to speak to the owner of the dog who is described as a white man aged about 30 years-old.

The dog may have been a Corgi-Jack Russell cross or similar. It was a golden tan colour and appeared to be called Jack.

Anyone with information is asked to contact PCSO Matthew Smith at Bury St Edmunds East/West Safer Neighbourhood Team on 101.
