DOCUMENT storage firm Box-It East has opened a £1 million facility in Risby.
West Suffolk MP Matthew Hancock officially opened the purpose-built facility at Symonds Farm Business Park on Friday.
Director David Midwood founded the farm diversification business in 2003. It now employs 11 people.
Clients include small independent firms of solicitors and accountants as well as large public sector organisations, including local authorities.
Demand led to the creation of the new warehouse which is the same size as a football pitch, about 15m in height and which has the capacity for 250,000 archive boxes.
“We had outgrown our previous facility and our move marks an exciting new era for Box-it East, presenting viable opportunities for rapid business growth,” Mr Midwood said.
The building boasts tight security systems, a dehumidification plant to control moisture levels to ensure documents are stored in precise conditions, and advanced barcoding to allow for accurate and efficient tracking of documents.
