Do you run our best business?
Of all the accolades in the annual Bury Free Press Business Awards the two most sought after are Business of the Year and Business Person of the Year.
Business of the Year, sponsored by Bury St Edmunds Chamber of Commerce, was won last year by the Haverhill-based lettings and estate agency CXG Group. Could your business lift the trophy this year?
The chamber is again sponsoring the award and its chairman Colin Knight said: “Bury St Edmunds is the home of many hard working, entrepreneurial businesses that contribute to the economy of this town and the wider Suffolk business community.
The economy of Suffolk is one of the few across the country that is a positive contributor to UK plc, that means as a county we put more in than we take out.
“That’s why as a Chamber we are always encouraging firms to showcase their work and the economic growth it brings.
“If you have worked hard this year, if you feel you are making a difference and that your business is the leading the way, then we encourage you to enter the awards. You deserve to be recognised for your contribution to the local, regional and national economy.”
Chris Barrett, corporate director at Ensors Chartered Accountants who sponsor Business Person of the Year, said, “We are really pleased to join the sponsors team for the Bury Free Press Business Awards and look forward to taking an active part in what has become a well established and much anticipated event in the Suffolk business calendar.
“There are a lot of excellent businesses and business people in the West of Suffolk and as an established, West Suffolk firm ourselves, we wanted to do our bit to help these shining stars get noticed.”
Ensors Chartered Accountants is one of East Anglia’s largest firms of independent chartered accountants in Suffolk with offices across the region including Fornham All Saints.
Last year, the award went to Daemmon Reeve, chief executive of Treatt, the world-leading manufacturer and supplier of flavour, fragrance and cosmetic ingredients based in Northern Way, Bury St Edmunds.
