A fire crew from Thetford freed a muntjac deer stuck in railings by using hydraulic rescue equipment, which is more usually used to free people from crash wreckage.

The deer was stuck in a fence in Fairfields housing estate.

Muntjac are our smallest deer and are about as big as a medium-sized dog, though the males have sharp tusks, which make them dangerous to handle.
