Death fall in Bury St Edmunds leads police to body in Long Melford

Police investigating the death of a man in Bury St Edmunds this afternoon have discovered the body of a woman at a house in Long Melford.

Officers had been carrying out enquiries following an incident at the Parkway multi-storey car park where a man was found with injuries following a fall at around 12.10pm.

Paramedics treated the man for serious head injuries, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation into his death led police to an address in Little St Mary’s, Long Melford.

A search of the house was carried out and a woman’s body was discovered at the scene.

A police cordon is currently in place at the address in Long Melford and the Parkway car park.

The investigation is in its early stages and enquiries are ongoing.

Both the deaths are currently being treated as unexplained.
