Damage caused by bonfire spreading at Hessett

An out of control bonfire ended up damaging a caravan, shed and 20 metres of hedge in Hessett this afternoon.

Fire crews from Bury St Edmunds and Elmswell were called to a domestic property in The Green at about 1.45pm where they used a hose reel and one jet to extinguished the fire.

The sthe fire was soon out but the crews remained on scene, damping down any remaining hot spots.
