Crown court for woman charged with stealing £15k

A woman has been committed to crown court for sentencing for theft of more than £15,000 over four years while she was working at Honington’s village Post Office.

Lynda Ann Larke, of The Firs, Bury St Edmunds, pleaded guilty when she appeared yesterday at Bury Magistrate’s Court to stealing £10,968 in cash from postmistress Maureen Tilbrook .

The thefts occurred between March 1, 2009 and November 5, 2012.

She also admitted two separate charges of stealing sums of cash belonging to two other people in Honington.

She was charged with theft of £1,200 between June 1 and November 5, 2012 and of £3,012 between January 1 and November 30, 2010.

The magistrates remanded Larke, 62, on unconditional bail.

A date for the hearing at Ipswich Crown Court has yet to be fixed.
