THE first Suffolk Food and Drink show at Gifford’s Hall, Hartest, was so successful the organisers say it will be back next year.
Matthew Patten, of the organisers, Foodstuf Events, said: “Aldeburgh has its food festival in the east but we don’t have anything in the west, yet we have the food producers and the restaurants.
“The weather on Saturday was good and it was a lovely atmosphere with people sitting on the grass. A lot of the stalls sold out. It will be annual.”
Cookery demonstrations by top local restaurants, including The Crown at Bildeston and The Swan at Lavenham, were so popular one chef said the crowd was bigger than he had at Suffolk Show.
Mr Patten said: “They were all so extrovert and it really worked well so they’ve all said they want to come back.”
Visitors got wine tasting vouchers for the hall’s vineyards and could buy everything from pate to rare breed meat, cheese and cakes.
