Two men charged with attempted murder after incident in Bury St Edmunds

Two men will appear in court this morning charged with attempted murder following an incident in Bury St Edmunds.

Police were called at 6.45pm on Monday to a disturbance in Ridley Road.

On arrival, police found a man suffering from chest and facial injuries. He was taken to West Suffolk Hospital for further treatment.

Two men were located shortly afterwards, arrested and taken to the Bury Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

Richard McClenaghen, 47, of no fixed abode, and Jamie Turner, 43, of Caie Walk, Bury, have both been charged with attempted murder and will appear before Bury St Edmunds Magistrates’ Court this morning.
