Thieves hit hospice funds

POLICE are appealing for information following a break-in at a Needham Market antique centre which sold items to raise money for St Elizabeth Hospice.

Items of antique jewellery worth about £300 were stolen from Station Yard Emporium, in Station Yard, between June 22 and June 25.

The jewellery was being sold in the antique centre on behalf of St Elizabeth Hospice to raise vital funds.

A spokeswoman from the hospice said: “They are directly stealing from our funds because all the money raised would go directly to fund the services we provide to patients and their families free of charge.

“We have to raise £5 million a year.”

Anyone with information is urged to call Sgt Colin Curtis on 01473 613500.
