Two teenagers have denied stealing a £600 springer spaniel from Bury St Edmunds, which was then thrown out of a van window on the A12.

Johnlee Eastwood, 18, of Elm Road, Pitsea, and a 16-year-old from Wickham, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates Court on Wednesday charged with stealing the dog on February 10.

The juvenile also denied causing unnecessary suffering to the dog by throwing it out of the van window at Great Braxted on the same day.

They were bailed to August 2.
