POLICE are urging residents to take extra precautions after a spate of thefts in Thetford.

Opportunist thieves are being blamed for a series of break-ins in the town, with police telling residents to keep cars and garages locked at all times.

In an incident last Thursday, tools were stolen from a van in St Edmund Road after entry had been forced. Another van in the road was targeted but nothing was taken.

Tools, cash and a sat nav were stolen from an insecure vehicle in Cromwell Close last Tuesday. An insecure garage in Angerstein Close was searched by offenders on the same night, although again nothing was taken.

Contact police on 101 if you have any information.
