A driver is being prosecuted for careless driving after a three car collision on the A14 last night.

Emergency services were called to the west bound carriageway of the A14 just after 10pm to the incident involving a white Renault Clio, a silver Peugeot 307 and a black Seat Altea.

Two elderly casualties were treated for shock, two men were taken to Ipswich Hospital with minor injuries and one 50-year-old man was taken to West Suffolk Hospital with neck injuries.

One lane of the A14, just before the A140 junction at Coddenham, was closed until 11.30pm so the casualties could be treated and so the cars could be recovered.

A Suffolk Police spokesman said the driver of the Renault Clio faces prosecution.
