Police investigate series of break-ins in Mid Suffolk and at Hengrave

Police are linking three burglaries carried out yesterday in which a vehicle and jewellery were stolen.

A burglary happened in Bury Road. Hengrave between 1.05pm and 2.50pm. Theives forced the door to a property and searched the premises stealing silver and gold jewellery.

A grey Nissan Juke, registration EN62YJY, was stolen during a burglary in Stowmarket Road, Old Newton the same day. This was some time between 10.50am and 3.10pm. A rear patio door was forced and the property searched. The thieves made off with the keys from inside and then stole the vehicle from the driveway.

A further burglary occurred between 2.30pm and 5.45pm in Garneys Close, Kenton where a brick was used to smash the glass of a rear door and gain entry. A search of the property was made but nothing appears to have been stolen.

Finally, at around 2.40pm two men approached a house in Haughley Green, Haughley and forced open the front door. The occupant of the property challenged the men who ran off onto the main road. The men are described as white and wearing navy blue clothing.
