THE Crown Prosecution Service has decided no further action will be taken against a woman arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following the death of a man in Honington in March.

Leslie Metcalfe died on March 17 following an incident in Poplar Close the previous day. A provisional post-mortem examination found he died as a result of a single stab wound to the heart.

A 22-year-old woman from the Bury St Edmunds area was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder prior to Mr Metcalfe’s death.

Police say that the CPS has decided that no charges should be brought after examining the case file. Mr Metcalfe’s family have been informed.
