A DRUNK man who assaulted a pub doorman at closing time has been banned from all pubs and clubs in England and Wales.
Jamie Paul Scott, 33, formerly of Lockington Close, Stowmarket, pleaded guilty to assault by beating at Bury St Edmunds Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
Prosecuting, Tess Mann said Scott was in the Duke’s Head on November 11 and was so drunk at closing time that staff had to rouse him to ask him to leave. He swore at two staff members who helped him to the door and slapped Jake Wilden across the face.
In mitigation, James Dignan said Scott was a self-employed HGV driver who worked long hours.
As well as the year-long ban, Scott was ordered to pay £100 compensation and £85 costs.
