A motorist who pleaded guilty to failing to stop after an accident told Bury St Edmunds Magistrates’ Court on Friday that his partner, who had seven children, would suffer ‘exceptional hardship’ if he lost his licence.

Michael Stefanidakis, 41, of Bradfield St Clare, was banned from driving for six months, after the court added five points to the eight already on his licence.

He was fined £150 and ordered to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £15.

Wayne Ablett, prosecuting, said Stefanidakis was in a car accident in Bury Road, Bradfield St Clare, at 12pm on June 18 and refused to provide his details to the other motorist before driving away.
