A Thetford man, who admitted harassing a former friend, has received a suspended prison sentence.
Between September 1, 2011, and December 24, 2012, Trevor Stephen Fox sent Kizzie Arrons unwanted messages via social networking sites, emails and texts.
Emma Howson, prosecuting, said Fox’s harassment had continued even after he was issued with a police information notice.
“She feels he has a deluded belief that they will be together one day,” said Mrs Howson.
In mitigation, Alison Muir said Fox and Miss Arrons had a friendship which had ‘blossomed’ briefly and that she had only recently made it clear there would be no relationship between them.
At Bury St Edmunds Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, Fox, 41, of Ethel Colman Way, got eight weeks custody suspended for 12 months, with supervision and a restraining order.
He was ordered to pay £40 costs and an £80 victim surcharge.
