Man arrested after allegedly trying to sell gun

A MAN has been arrested and charged after police were called to reports that a man was trying to sell a rifle in Bury St Edmunds town centre yesterday.

Police received reports of a man offering a gun for sale in Bury St Edmunds town centre yesterday morning. Officers searched the area and a man was arrested in Churchgate Street and a rifle was seized.

Wayne Phillips, aged 26 of Poplar Close, Honington, is due before Bury Magistrates on June 2. He has been charged with possessing a firearm without a certificate.
