Lorry hit from bridge

Have your say

A LORRY driver’s window was shattered on Friday when an object was thrown at it from a bridge over the A14 at Bury St Edmunds.

Police were called at around 3.45pm following a report that an articulated lorry, travelling on the westbound carriageway, had been struck by an unknown item.

It was around 1.5 miles from junction 42 when the object hit its driver’s side window, causing the glass to shatter.

The driver was uninjured and able to stop his vehicle in a nearby layby.

Units, including the police helicopter, searched the area for anyone who may have been involved.

Police are reminding people to report any suspicious activity on bridges over Suffolk’s roads and appealing for anyone who has information to call 101.
