Four in court over arc stabbing in Bury St Edmunds

Four men accused of attempting to murder a US serviceman in a Bury St Edmunds shopping centre have appeared in court.

It is alleged that Jonathan McNeely was attacked and stabbed during the early hours of New Year’s Day.

He was found with stab wounds at a flat in Gosnold Street in the arc.

Today Ryan Otto, 32, Rhys Hammond,18, Siju Roseje, 30, and Peter Raeburn, 32, appeared at Ipswich Crown Court.

Lawyers acting for the men told Judge David Goodin that no pleas were being indicated at this stage.

Otto, of Airfield Road, Bury St Edmunds, Hammond, from Rushbrooke, near Bury St Edmunds, Roseje, of Robinson Way, Wootton, Northampton and Raeburn, of Macquarie Quay, Eastbourne, were all remanded in custody.

The four are due to appear in court on March 30 for a plea and case management hearing.

Judge Goodin refused bail applications made on behalf of Roseje and Raeburn.
