POLICE investigating the deaths of two men in Beck Row last Tuesday want to speak to a van driver seen travelling at speed on the A1101 towards Mildenhall.
Police were called to the Irish travellers’ site at Willow Park shortly before 10.30pm after residents reported hearing gun shots.
The bodies of 29-year-old David Castell and 20-year-old Shane Hill, from Essex, were discovered at the scene with gunshot wounds.
Two men from Mildenhall, aged 38 and 28, were arrested in connection with the deaths and released on police bail until April and May respectively.
Police have been making house-to-house inquiries and this week they conducted stop-checks on 500 vehicles and pedestrians.
Armed police continue to patrol the area and have recovered a number of guns but it is not yet known whether any are connected to the deaths.
Anyone who saw or heard a disturbance at Willow Park last Tuesday and anyone who saw a white van speeding towards Mildenhall shortly before 10.30pm is urged to contact police on 01473 613500 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
Det Supt Julian Gregory said: “We would urge the driver, anyone who saw it or anyone who knows about it to step forward.”
