Cafe robbery in Red Lodge

ROBBERS armed with metal bars have taken cash and charity boxes from a cafe in Red Lodge following an incident this morning.

At around 2.30am five men wearing balaclavas entered the Red Lodge Cafe on Turnpike Road. One of the men threatened a member of staff and demanded cash from the till and safe.

The men made off with cash, a handbag and charity boxes, driving off in a small white 4x4 towards Newmarket on the A11.

A burnt-out car was later found in a field in Chippenham, Cambridgeshire.

Police want to speak to anyone who may have seen the 4x4 in the area before or after the robbery and anyone else who may information about the robbery.
