THE abuse of boys at a Suffolk school was investigated by journalist Roger Cook in a BBC show aired on Tuesday night.

An Abuse of Trust looked into the ‘reign of terror’ at St George’s School, in Great Finborough, for which former headteacher Derek Slade received a 21-year sentence last September.

The programme, aired on BBC1 at 10.35pm, showed that Derek Slade was investigated for beating children in the 1980s but went on to change his name and work in schools in Swaziland and India.

He was finally convicted at Ipswich Crown Court for the abuse that 12 boys suffered while at St George’s School.

Thirty five former students are now claiming damages from the company, Anglemoss Ltd that ran the school.
