£40 million cocaine pair appear in court

Two men have appeared in court charged with conspiracy to supply cocaine with a street value of £30 to £40 million.

Terance Smith, of Etheldra Drive, Thetford, and Frederick Colverson, of Donoghue Cottages, London, appeared in Bury St Edmunds Magistrates’ Court this morning.

They have both been sent for a preliminary hearing at Ipswich Crown Court on November 15.

The 56-year-olds are charged with conspiracy to supply class A drugs after 174 kilos of cocaine were found at an industrial building in Brandon, on Monday.

No pleas were entered this morning. The men will be remanded in custody until their next hearing.
