Firefighters tackled a ‘well developed’ house fire in Stowmarket last night.

Emergency services were called at around 6.10pm to a home on Hill Rise.

Crews from Stowmarket and Elmswell were mobilised to the scene.

A spokeswoman for Cambridgeshire and Suffolk fire control said: “There was a well developed fire on the first floor of the house.

“We used two sets of breathing apparatus and on hose reel to tackle the fire.

“There were no casualties but the family needed to stay with other family members.”

A Fire Emergency Support Vehicle was also sent to the scene to support the family.

The fire was under control by 6.33pm.
