Crews tackle barn fire in Drinkstone

Firefighters tackled a barn fire at Deadmans Lane in Drinkstone this afternoon.

Emergency services were called at around 1.45pm today and crews from Elmswell and Bury St Edmunds rushed to the scene.

Once they arrived, a third fire engine was called in from Stowmarket.

While putting out the fire, firefighters discovered that asbestos was involved so called on two further appliances, one from Bury and the other from Ixworth.

Crews used two hose reels and two jets to fight the fire.

The incident was under control by 3.34pm.
