Fire crews were called to tackle a hedge and shed fire in Stowmarket in the early hours of Friday morning.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service were alerted to reports of smoke in Gainsborough Road at about 12.48am.

Crews from Needham Market and then Stowmarket attended the blaze, arriving at the scene to find about five metres of conifer hedge well alight, which was also affecting a nearby shed which was being used as an aviary.

Firefighters used one hosereel to put out the fire, and had the incident under control by 1.15am.
