Man who died in A14 crash at Woolpit named as 38-year-old George Collins from Bury St Edmunds
The family of a 38-year-old man who died in a crash on the A14 at Woolpit on Saturday have paid tribute to him.
Police were called to the scene on the westbound carriageway just after 5am following reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a number of vehicles.
George Collins, from Bury St Edmunds, died at the scene.
A tribute from his family said: "Our beloved son, George, died on the A14, in the morning of 10 August.
"After many troubled years suffering from mental illness he is now peaceful at last.
"We should like to express our thanks to the emergency services for all they did and our sorrow for the trauma caused to anyone who became involved.”
