A young couple who have reopened a Haughley pub have been overwhelmed by the welcome they have received from the village.

New licensees Lucy Jones and Grant Newland, both 26, have taken on Greene King’s The Kings Arms on Old Street in Haughley as their first pub.

Lucy said: “Everyone in the village has been really positive and we couldn’t have asked for a better welcome. We have had lots of lovely feedback as well as some great ideas for the future.”

Both Grant and Lucy have a hospitality background from working as sous chef and assistant manager respectively in Carluccio’s Cambridge.

The Kings Arms has unveiled a new menu with homemade pub classics and daily changing specials as well as serving traditional roast lunches on Sundays.
