A councillor who has been diagnosed with Parkinsons Disease will be playing a medley of Beatles numbers at The Apex on Saturday April 13 between 11am and 12pm.

Cllr Paul Farmer will be in the upstairs bar at the Charter Square building raising funds for Parkinson’s UK.

Next week is the start of Parkinson’s Awarenes Week and people are welcome to drop in and enjoy the music, make a donation or they can contribute online at www.JustGiving.com/PaulplaysBeatles

Cllr Farmer said: “The disease affects each patient differently and doesn’t necessarily have to get in the way of every activity. Indeed it’s important to try hard not to let it do so.”

While walking can be problematic for him cycling is easier and Cllr Farmer says the piano playing is also something he is able to do.
