St Edmundsbury Borough Council has reinstated a Cumulative Impact Policy (CIP) within the Abbeygate ward of Bury St Edmunds.

The policy, which limits the growth of licensed premises in a designated area, has not, however, been adopted within the town’s Risbygate ward.

At a meeting on Monday, Cllr David Nettleton, who represents Risbygate ward, criticised the council’s CIP consultation and said he had received no complaints about Station Hill, one of the areas being considered.
