Council offices affected by power cut in Bury St Edmunds
Council offices are among those affected by a power cut in Bury St Edmunds.
The power cut has struck the Howard and Mildenhall Road estates as well as part of Station Hill, according to UK Power Networks' power cuts site.
St Edmundsbury Borough Council's offices, in Western Way, have also been affected.
A council spokesman said: "We're continuing to deliver services and we ask residents to bear with us."
A spokeswoman for UK Power Networks said: "Engineers have restored power to the majority of customers affected by a power cut in part of Bury St Edmunds today.
"At 10.51am 1,550 properties in the Western way area lost supplies as a result of an underground cable fault and there are currently 38 customers still affected.
"We have staff on site working to restore their power as quickly as is safely possible and would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused."
