Conga-ing their way to charity

EVEN summer showers could not stop rhythmic fund-raisers doing the conga for charity.

Sixty-two people got in line and grabbed the person in front at Asda in Bury St Edmunds on Saturday to raise more than £700 for St Nicholas Hospice Care.

Abby Mayes, hospice corporate fund-raiser, said: “It’s great that so many people pulled on their colourful outfits and took part in the conga.”

A pass the parcel and raffle were also held with further entertainment from Bury Sea Cadets Band.

Asda has now raised £1,315 for the St Nicholas Hospice Care Towergate Accumulator Challenge after an Olympic Torch photocall and tombola.
