COMPETITION: Follow the lead and see if your dog is picture-perfect
Pooches have been striking their best pose as the competition to be named the cutest canine and the face of a charity dog show hots up.
Entries are continuing to flood in as we hunt for a hound handsome enough to front St Nicholas Hospice Care’s Paws in the Park event.
We need a dog with star quality to grace the posters, banners, programmes and marketing materials for the family dog show at Nowton Park on Sunday, May 21 from 10am to 4pm.
Charlie De-Moore, hospice events and challenges fund-raiser, said: “The response we have had to this year’s Paws in the Park poster pooch competition has been brilliant.
“From pint-sized pooches to cuddly canines we have had it all and we are really excited to see even more photogenic pets so don’t forget to enter them into the competition before the deadline on March 6.”
To enter your dog fill in the entry form and send us a photograph of your pooch. Alternatively, you can enter your dog online at www.stnicholashospice.org.uk/paws-poster-pooch
The closing date is Monday, March 6 at 9am and the winner will be announced in the Bury Free Press on Friday, March 17.
All details requested must be completed otherwise we will be unable to enter your pet into the competition.
Entrants must also be able to attend a Paws in the Park photo-call on Monday, March 13.
As well as being the face of the event the winner’s owner will also win a 10in by 8in professional portrait of their dog and a family ticket (two adults and two children) for the event, which is being organised by the hospice and Swayne and Partners vets.
You can find out more about the dog show, and the classes you can enter your pet into, on the hospice’s website www.stnicholashospice.org.uk in the events section.
