TEA and cake were the order of the day as Fornham All Saints Community Centre celebrated the opening of its new kitchen.
Members of the Fornham All Saints Community Council joined St Edmundsbury borough councillors and representatives from Havebury Housing Partnership in raising their teacups to toast the new kitchen on Thursday.
Secretary of the community council, John Chapman, said the work was well needed.
He said: “We have various groups at the centre, from brownies to morris dancers, and it is great that we can offer them a new kitchen to use.
“Before the refurbishment we were using the original kitchen fitted in 1974 so it was showing serious signs of wear and tear.
“The new kitchen is going to be a much better place to enjoy a cup of tea.”
The refurbishment was funded by St Edmundsbury council, Havebury Housing Partnership and The Suffolk Foundation.
