Colour comes to the market
There is a new stylish addition to the Bury St Edmunds market stalls.
Ace + Spades run by Amy Underwood is a colourful shoe and leather accessory business.
The business made its first appearance on the market four weeks ago and can be found every Saturday opposite Croasdales Chemists, run by Amy and her sister.
Amy, 33, said: “Since going onto the market it’s went really well, we’ve had lots of interest, it’s really good.
“I’ve always supported the market, to be part of it is brilliant.”
Amy works from her home in Bury St Edmunds.
“I’ve always had a passion for colour, I believe colour makes you happy.
“I call them the shoes that love you,” she said.
This can be vividly seen with Amy’s designs and variety of coloured sandals she has on sale.
From purple and lime to aqua and yellow, the sandals seem a perfect addition to a woman’s wardrobe during this heat wave or for your next summer holiday.
Amy has an extensive fashion history, where she has worked for several well known publications such as Vanity Fair, Tatler and the Marks & Spencer magazine.
Amy said: “The company is going really good, I am really happy with how it’s growing and excited with now launching it in the Bury market, it has been great.
“I’ve had lots of positive feedback from customers who love colour.”
The sandals are produced in Menorca, where Amy regularly visits.
“I used to go to Menorca to get them made for myself, people would always ask for them. This pushed me to set up a company,” Amy said.
Amy is also looking to launch leather accessories which would include dog collars and dog leads, a dog lover herself. As well as wallets and key rings.
The sandals cost £45 and can be purchased via the market or online.
Amy said: “I believe that everyone has their own personal style.
“You have to be comfortable in what you’re wearing.”
