Collision involving car and coach

NINE people have been taken to hospital following a road traffic collision on the A11 at Elveden involving a car and a coach.

The collision, which was reported to police at about 1:25pm, was between the A1101 five ways roundabout and the junction with the B1106.

It is believed that the coach was carrying 48 people, the majority of whom were teenagers, and five of which were taken to West Suffolk Hospital with minor injuries.

The other vehicle involved was a black Mercedes with four people inside. Three have been taken to Addenbrooks Hospital, one with life threatening injuries and the remaining casualty was taken to Norfolk and Norwich with serious injuries.

Road closures have been put in place in the area and diversions have been set up.
