People in Thetford are being invited to improve their English and Maths skills on free educational courses.

The functional skills courses, being offered by West Suffolk College, are designed to help people improve their day-to-day understanding of English and Maths.

This could be to help them into further study, to improve job prospects or even to help their children with their homework.

Deborah Barton, head of English and Maths at West Suffolk College, said: “We would encourage everyone to give it a go and the courses are free for those who don’t already hold a grade C in Maths and English GCSE.”

The 15-week course, involving one day a week of study, starts at the end of February and will be held at Thetford Academy.
