In the run-up to their Super Bowl performance, Coldplay had a surprise in store for three young Bury musicians.

The group sent signed photos to Daniel Hiw Robinson, Freddie Rose and Danny Rainford, who are in a band Tick Tock Clock and performed Clocks by Coldplay in a music contest at St James Middle School.

They didn’t win but Daniel’s godfather Andrew Whitfield emailed the PA of Coldplay’s lead singer Chris Martin and received the signed pictures.

Mr Whitfield said: “I wanted to give them a confidence boost. I just really wanted a letter of acknowledgement so it was really kind.”
