Coalminer from Horringer died from industrial disease inquest finds

A verdict of industrial disease has been recorded by coroner Dr Peter Dean after a former coalminer died from a respiratory illness.

Geoffrey Bleazard, 88, of Hazel Drive, Horringer, had worked in the coalmines for 30 years from the age of 14, his inquest heard.

Dr Thomas Pulimood, a consultant at West Suffolk Hospital saw Mr Bleazard last June when he complained of a shortness of breath.

He died in January from bronchial pneumonia, and pulmonary fibrosis, secondary to black lung, the inquest in Bury St Edmunds heard on Thursday (13).
