Climb inside the stomach of 60ft inflatable whale at Bury St Edmunds' arc shopping centre on Saturday
Shoppers will be able to climb inside the stomach of a 60ft life-sized inflatable whale when it washes up at Bury St Edmunds' arc shopping centre on Saturday, June 22.
They will be able to hear entertaining treasure tales and children will learn about recycling.
There is the chance to make sea turtles from plastic bottles brought to the event, which is from 11am to 3pm.
Clownfish Nemo and royal blue tang Dory will also be swimming into the centre to meet families.
The meet and greet sessions will take place at 40 minute intervals throughout the day at 11am, noon, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm.
Abbie Panks, centre manager said “Whilst a 60ft whale is not something you would expect to see in a shopping centre, it’s a fantastic piece of entertaining street theatre with an important message.
"We’ve designed this event to engage children and their families to find out more about our oceans and the importance of keeping them rubbish free.
"The activities also show alternative uses for plastics so that they don’t have to be just single use."
