MEMBERS of the Suffolk Circle over-50s group often meet for lunch, but last week they met for lunch with visitors from a London Circle.
The joint outing of Suffolk and Hammersmith and Fulham Circles was the first meeting between two circle clubs.
The two circles members, 24 fro Suffolk and 16 from London, met over lunch at The Bushel in Angel Hill, Bury St Edmunds, then split up.
Some went shopping in the town, using discounts Suffolk Circle had set up, mostly with independent shops.
The other half were led on an informal tour by Finbarr Carter, Suffolk Circle’s head of membership, visiting St Johns Street, Bury Market, Cornhill, Harriet’s tea shop, and everything from historic back streets to Greene King’s Brewery and the Theatre Royal.
