Thieves appear to have targeted a marquee when they broke into a shed belonging to St Bartholomew’s Church, Ingham.

Though other items were stored there they were ignored by the thieves when they broke in between last Thursday and Sunday.

John Wrigglesworth, former Ingham Social Club chairman, said: “Any theft is a bad crime, but stealing from a church is despicable.”

The thieves stole one 20ft by 12ft beige marquee plus parts of a second, making it useless. Contact PC Sonia Plume at Bury St Edmunds on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
