CHRISTMAS services are being planned for the Howard and Westley Estates in Bury St Edmunds.

On Friday, from 7pm, volunteers from the Christian Resource Centre Pentecostal Church will sing carols and conduct readings at the Newbury Community Centre, in St Olaves Road.

The food and drink provided is to be donated by Asda and the Western Way store’s community life champion Michelle Nobbs will present community representatives with a £5,000 cheque from the Asda Foundation.

On December 16, from 7pm, another service is due to take place at the Westbury Community Centre, in Oliver Road, with food and drink also donated by ASDA.

Sujieh Alex, of the Christian Resource centre, said: “It’s an open invitation to the communities.”
