Challenging questions and some cryptic quizzing have helped raise £400 for Childline.
Chris Wiley, who works at Harveys Garden Plants, in Thurston, decided to stage a quiz night at the village’s Orchard Room at Great Green.
He chose the telephone support line for children, which is the nominated charity for Heart FM and handed over the cheque at the end of March.
Chris, who has worked part-time for the nursery for some time, is now employed as an apprentice nurseryman with studies at Otley College.
He said: “We had some great prizes donated and 10 teams took part. I think Childline is a great cause and wanted to do something to support the work it does.
“I was very pleased that we managed to raise so much money and local people came along and gave me great support which I am very grateful for.”
