Choir to serenade Girls Night Out walkers
A choir is to serenade thousands of fund-raisers as they complete a charity's popular moonlight walk in Bury St Edmunds.
Members of the Rock Vox Choir will perform a special arrangement and other numbers for participants in St Nicholas Hospice Care's 10th Girls Night Out.
The 40-strong choir, which includes singers from Mildenhall, Brandon, Lakenheath, Cambridge, Ely and Soham, began supporting the charity after one of its members took part in the walk.
Clare Clay, who leads the Prickwillow-based choir, said "There is just an amazing atmosphere and we are so pleased that we are able to be part of it.
"Being able to see everyone over the finish line is amazing. It's like euphoric joy when you are there on the night.
"Last year was the first time we performed the special Girls Night Out arrangement and we will definitely be doing that again this year.
"We will also have a few other special numbers too."
The event on September 8 sees women dressed in pyjamas and flashing bunny ears walk 11.2 or six miles around Bury St Edmunds.
To mark the 10th Girls Night Out, there will be a memory minute before walkers set off with those taking part also receiving a celebratory cupcake and hot drink at the finish.
Last year's walk raised a record £275,000 for the hospice.
