Children warned against dangerous outdoor activities

YOUNG people in Mildenhall have been asked to stop running across roofs and jumping from structures.

Police have received reports of young people jumping into the river Lark from a footbridge at the Jubilee Fields as well as engaging in ‘free running’, a sport that has seen them jumping across roofs at St John’s Community Centre, a local convenience store and Great Heath Primary School.

PCSO Bill Butcher said: “We’ve had to speak to a number of people in the area about these dangerous games, we obviously want young people to have fun during the holidays but these activities are posing a serious danger to their own safety, and can endanger other people too.

“We are urging people to refrain from this activity and asking parents to ask their children about where they are going to be during the day.”
